What to expect

Placement, permits and Pennsylvania's borough/township system

On your own driveway or private property, no permit is required anywhere we deliver. If a container needs to sit on a public street instead, each Borough or Township handles that within its own limits — Borough of West Chester, PA for addresses inside West Chester Borough itself. Pennsylvania's local government structure is genuinely unusual: every one of the 10 communities we serve is either an incorporated Borough (like West Chester itself) or a Township with its own real, elected government — never merely "unincorporated" the way it can work in some other states. The one exception is Exton, a well-known place name with no borough or township of its own, governed directly by West Whiteland Township. Chester County, PA Government handles countywide matters and county-owned roads and parks. See the table above for each location's own link, and see our permits guide and our borough-vs-township explainer for more. If your project involves any digging or footing work, call Pennsylvania One Call System - Call 811 first so underground lines get located before a bucket ever goes in the ground.

Southeastern Pennsylvania's climate genuinely changes the calculus here. A real summer thunderstorm season, an occasional nor'easter, and remnant tropical rainfall from a storm that tracked up the coast are all a routine, practical scheduling factor across the county. Any of those can occasionally push a delivery back half a day, and a heavy nor'easter can turn a soft, unpaved driveway hazardous — tell us if your project is time-sensitive around a forecast and we'll work the schedule around it. Beyond weather, steady renovation growth in West Chester's historic districts and ongoing development along the Rt-30/Rt-100/Exton corridor keep a predictable share of our schedule booked, so booking a few days ahead during a busy stretch is worth it.

Local knowledge

Why local coverage actually matters

Anyone can put a list of place names on a web page. What makes a difference on delivery day is whether the driver you get has actually been down your street.

Our own drivers know that a narrow historic-downtown block needs a different placement than a wide-open suburban lot out toward West Goshen Township, and they know how a long farm-driveway delivery into Willistown Township or Thornbury Township differs from a standard in-Borough homeowner cleanout. They also know what an approaching nor'easter does to a delivery schedule across the county.

That local knowledge is the difference between a container that lands exactly where you want it and a wasted trip.
